The Diamondbacks aggressively promoted Parker to their full season Low-A affiliate South Bend and Parker performed admirably.  Jarrod compiled a 12-5 record in 24 starts with 33 BB/117 K's in 117.2 IP.  Parker has a nasty 93-95 MPH fastball that he can bump up to 97 MPH at times.  His curveball, with its late sharp break, may be his best pitch.  Additionally, Parker can mix in a hard, mid-80's slider and an improving change.  Some within the system have compared Parker to fellow young flamethrowers Tim Lincecum and Scott Kazmir.  Parker's changeup Read the full story
